Nimbus Spotlight; Life at Nimbus with James Heath

My name is James Heath and I am Head of Service Operations at Nimbus.

Before joining Nimbus, I spent the last 9 years working as a Service Manager at British Gas working across the vast spectrum that is field services (with 17 years of experience in the electrical / data/construction industry). My role was to lead a team focused on delivering at the highest level for its customers.

This was achieved by developing and delivering plans to drive a ‘right first time’ culture; coaching and developing my team to maximize opportunities to improve NPS and Customer Satisfaction. Coupled with embedding and creating a team identity across a mixed skillset. Building a strong, trusted, customer-centric and highly performing team that aligns with the business’ culture and values.

Nimbus really appealed to me, being a family run SME with its people at its heart and a one team approach to delivery & growth. Having worked for large corporations throughout my career the thing that I feel is always overlooked is the connection and relatability to the workforce. Nimbus offers a clear organisational structure with an open door policy meaning you can easily and freely speak directly to the CEO and SLT to share ideas or propose directional shifts when it comes to existing or new clients.

For me the most enjoyable thing about working at Nimbus is the people and the shared passion for delivering exceptional service to our clients. It’s an organisation where no one is left behind even with new ways of remote/hybrid working. Nimbus believes in its people and invests in their wellbeing whether that be through flexible working, training and development, team building events, health plans or green initiatives (like car sharing and the cycle to work scheme).

The team morale drives you to be better and that’s what I love about Nimbus’ culture, as it shifts the stereotypical dynamic away from being “a job” and more to one of a vocation where you feel you can influence change.

Since joining Nimbus I have felt supported by the whole team and have enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone into a new industry which pushes me to learn new skills every day and strive to plug gaps in my knowledge and push to deliver at the highest level for my team and the wider business.
